Tips on Replacing Bathroom Shower Knobs

Shower knobs come in a selection of colors, types, and fashions. You can check the brand by taking a look at the knobs, or around them, generally there's always a brand stamped or engraved. Do you see a screw? This screw will be unscrewed to release the handle. If you don't see a screw, there's a cover that is for decoration hiding the screw.

Simply get your flat end screwdriver, and wedge it in between the knob and decorative disk in the middle of the knob to pry off. Then, push on the new knob, guaranteeing to focus on the water temperature indicators. As you are facing the knobs, plumbing is always set up as hot water on the left, cold water on the right. Attach the screw to the middle of the knob, and put any decorative cover that was included onto it. Your new knobs are now finished and prepared to be used.

Tips on Taking off Knob of Shower Head

Switch off the water to your shower at the main water supply. This may prevent you from getting wet if you accidentally twist the knob whilst you are working on the tap.

If you are wearing shoes, consider putting down a mat or towel to stop scratching the floor of the tub or shower. Pry off the cover in the middle of each knob. Red indicates the hot tap knob and blue indicates the cold tap knob. The cover is mostly a tiny round insert on the front of the tap. Hold your knife flat and slip the blade behind the cover to pry the cover off. The thinner the blade, the less complicated this can be. A small paring knife from your kitchen will be much more acceptable than a bigger butter knife. When working with the knife, be aware of the pointy edge--keep that edge away from fingers as much as feasible.

Loosen and take the screw in the middle of the knob. The knob will pull straight off the stem of the tap. If the knob sticks, try carefully rocking it forwards and backwards. If it does won't come loose, spray a commercial lubricator, e.g. WD-40, on the tap stem to do the job. Permit the lubricator many minutes to loosen the bond, and then try again. Repeat the steps to get rid of the second tap shower knob.
